There are larger vacation homes or more lavish hotels, but there’s something amazing about over water bungalows in Bora Bora. Getting to Bora Bora takes some patience from the States, figure on an entire day’s travel (or losing two days to travel total), so it’s not a place you go to kill a weekend.
The first over water bungalows were built about thirty years ago, but now they have become pretty standard in Bora Bora and, to some extent, Tahiti. Though a common feature of many resorts, like anything else you can spend a lot or a little. If you’ve never thought about getting away to Bora Bora, maybe now you have a reason.
