Art of Shaving Celebrates 10 Smooth Years

The campaign has definitely been on this year to revive the art of wetshaving. So far we’ve shown you how and why, so now we’re onto the up-sell – products and accessories.
Since 1996, Art of Shaving have been bringing some mighty fine products to the department stores of America, and the team at Spungle, keen to mark the 10-year milestone, have undertaken an in-depth review of AoS’s four elements of shaving. Their official verdict? Smooth.
Lastly, after properly moisturizing, we were absolutely shocked at how soft and smooth our skin really felt. Now, don’t get us wrong, we don’t grow facial hair like Neanderthals, but we were simply blown away that we were able to bring our faces back to their prepubescent hair-free days. The stuff is amazing!
Proud (yet procrastinating) wetshavers like ourselves even learnt a few things from this. Like, is pre-shave oil a new thing? We’ve honestly never heard of it until now…

New Farraris to be Simultaneously Two-Wheel-Drive, Four-Wheel-Drive
Okay, don’t get too excited, you’re not necessarily going to be able to take your new Ferrari on the Dakar Rally. But for those that like to drive at ridiculously fast speeds on both wet and dry roads, this is the news you’ve been waiting for.
New Ferarris will come with what the Italian manufacturer has named “insertable four wheel drive” (debate rages in English language circles about the validity of the word insertable). Basically, when the car’s computer senses a lack of traction, the normally rear-wheel-drive machines will kick into all-wheel-drive mode. Drivers will also, for reasons unknown, be able to activate the feature manually.
As for how it works, the engineers at Ferrari are keen to explain it in the simplest language possible:
The insertable transmission system presents a second clutch, which on one end is connected with fixed transmission ratios to the crankshaft upstream of the gearbox and on the other is connected with fixed transmission ratios to the secondary driving wheels.
Yep, we understood all of that as well.

The Punch Fountain – the Worst Way to Serve a Cocktail?
We saw plenty of links to this contraption around the place today, most of them describing the device as a ‘cocktail fountain’. Oh God, where do we start explaining what’s wrong with this idea.
Don’t get us wrong, it looks damn cool, and it’s perfect for one thing – serving horrible, room temperature punch in the kind of wacky way you’d only expect at the most boring parties. But cocktails?
We think someone at the punch fountain factory has decided to broaden their horizons and move into the world of margaritas, martinis and manhattans – all of which would no doubt taste horrible dripping, tepid, out of a plastic tray.
Regardless, it’s currently not in stock and only available to customers in the UK.
