fork in the roadWhat a choice week at TSL. And a week of choice.

Furniture wise, we gave you the chance to save the world with the cardboard coffee table, or destroy it with the villain chair.

Fashion wise, we were making you pick sides in the blazing blazer battle of canvas v tweed (or you could ditch the jacket altogether and wear the world’s ugliest and most elegant rugby jersey).

We gave you the choice of learning to wetshave, and let you decide whether or not you finally wanted to learn the ancient language of butchery.

As far as girls went, you could take Evangeline Lilly to the Emmys, or 40 different Sports Illustrated models to the beach. And you could take them there in your wisely purchased vintage motorcycle, or your $5m megayacht (obviously not with a dog at the helm).

And when it comes to booze, we never make you choose. We recommend the 1989 Chateau de Beaucastel, followed by some Texan vodka, served on the run with a travelling cocktail kit.

Engineered Garments Bedford Herringbone JacketWe like this Engineered Garments jacket so much; we’ve invented an award for it.

Although cut from the herringbone tweed you’d expect of a classic American sports jacket, the patch pockets and collar tab give a nod to the classic bohemian duffel coat.

And while conservative enough to drape over a corporate dress shirt for the morning office commute (although to do so would be blasphemy), it’s perfectly suited for styling up an otherwise shabby pile of clothes, thrown on at the last minute and worn away from home on a long weekend bar and lounge bender.

It’s timelessly beautiful and under $400.

And its model has a beard. That’s part of the criteria for the award.
