Just finished off a Quo Vadimus “Islander” from Quo Vadimus cigars. The stogie, wrapped by QV’s Grade-9 Cuban roller, was a welcome departure from the sticks I’ve been used to thus far. The cigar lit up right away and burned uniformly throughout, offering a fine finish of rich, smooth smoke. The tobacco, which gives a nice even scent of vanilla down its length, was an excellent blend. The wrapper was tight and tasty and consistent through the burn.
I lost the ash at about the halfway point and the final few inches of this 7-incher had a great draw and some excellent smoke. Best of all? Not much of a cigar mouth after I finished this one. I’ve smoked some Cubans that I’ve tasted for a few weeks, post-light up. This one came, was a pleasure to smoke, and went.
The Islander is a special blend, only available to QV friends, family, and business associates. It was quite a thrill to get one on the packet they sent over and can’t wait to try the Reserve, which is what they sell online… mmmm… smoke.
